Mike and Gai
Our partnership began whilst Mike was taking part in the
Hobart
Wooden Boat Festival on his 80 yr old huon pine gaffer
Gannett 11. This world class event is held bi-annually
on Hobart’s waterfront and is a Mecca for wooden
boat enthusiasts.
We both moved to Tasmania
from the mainland. Mike raised a family and established
a home and learnt many old trades there, perhaps the most
important being wooden boat restoration. I ran a private
Podiatry practice in southern Tasmania but packed it all
up to go on the adventure of a lifetime.
Happy Water Babies
We have four children between us, all in their 20’s
and all doing fine in their chosen professions.
A mutual love of boats, the ocean, secluded little hideaway’s,
fishing and exploring what nature has to offer is what
we share, and makes for great boating companions. - Gai.
